There is a big difference between industrial grade turpentine and natural turpentine. Industrial grade turpentine comes from the paper or pulp industry and is commonly made from ground up tree stumps or scraps but more importantly usually contains extra chemicals in order to increase the amount of turpentine harvested. These extra chemicals are not what a customer that has their own unique application would be wanting in the product. For this reason many people are looking for 100% natural pure gum spirits of turpentine and not industrial grade to ensure these chemicals are not present in the product. Turpentine is a vey small industry and finding this higher quality can be difficult to find -until now.
